Carbon Neutral Adelaide Climathon

Adelaide Climathon 2016

Moving towards a carbon neutral city

For the first time in Adelaide, students, entrepreneurs, businesses and industry have the opportunity to participate in the global Climathon! The Climathon is an event run simultaneously across the world, providing all involved an opportunity to contribute to the Carbon Neutral Adelaide Goals. This is an all-inclusive event, you just need an interest in innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and creativity!

Friday 28th October 5:30pm – Saturday 29th October 5:30pm

Across the 24-hour event students will have the opportunity to express creative ideas, solve problems, be awarded prizes and be a part of an international event which has led to student start-ups and presentations at COP21 in Paris. The event will be judged on innovation, potential impact of the idea, and the final communication of your idea to a panel/audience. During the 24-hours teams will have access to industry and government mentors, workshops, a yoga session and $2 coffee!

This is a fantastic opportunity to anyone interested in moving Adelaide to being Carbon Neutral, with the following opportunities as the centre point for creative solutions, ideas which encourage jobs, and sustainability:

Topic 1 Reducing food waste in the CBD
Topic 2 Reducing packaging waste in the CBD (particularly coffee cups and plastic bottles)
Topic 3 Substantially increasing the uptake of green building solutions
Topic 4 Increasing public transport ridership

There will be multiple cash prizes for different categories, and for all participant’s, meals will be provided. For more information find us on Facebook, on the ASA website, or Climate-kic
