The Young Sustainability Leaders (YSL) Program run by the Adelaide Sustainability Association (ASA) provides 25 passionate University of Adelaide students with the knowledge, skills and networks required to link their chosen career path with sustainability.
This year’s program kicked off with an opportunity for our Young Sustainability Leaders to meet and form mentoring relationships with over 20 industry professionals. This event was a great success, with the room full of passionate and enthusiastic discussion as students and potential mentors participated in ‘Mentor Speed Dating’.
All program participants were matched with at least one industry professional, with students and their mentors planning on meeting throughout the remainder of the year on their own terms. These mentoring relationships will provide the YSL cohort with invaluable insights into their respective professions and give them a competitive edge as they start their careers.
The ASA would like to extend a big thank you to the industry professionals that attended the night and have volunteered their time to mentor our YSL students; an opportunity for them that no doubt will go a long way in contributing to their transition from University to professional careers.
A range of exciting opportunities for YSL participants are planned for semester 2. We can’t wait to share them with you all!
